Workshop Description
This 3-day training session focuses on real-life community projects introduced in the Project Management Planning Essentials workshop, providing participants with a completed project charter and all relevant appendices.
Building on the foundation of project management and analysis
Project Managers and teams must assess and control scope, schedule, and costs by monitoring & evaluating resources and contractor performance

Instructional Approach
This workshop combines theory with practical exercises to reinforce learning. Group exercises enhance team building, knowledge, and skills, with participants practicing presentation skills in an informal, supportive environment. Peer reviews offer valuable feedback and contribute to team development.
By the workshop’s end, participants will confidently prepare and present a complete Project Charter, using essential Project Management tools. They’ll also be equipped to clearly communicate project status and data to leadership, executing projects with control and applying learned techniques immediately in the workplace
About the Workshop
The course is congruent with the Project Management Institute’s (PMI) Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBoK) best practices. ENVPMSS courses are taught by a certified Project Management Professional with over 15 years of project management experience working on environmental and real property projects.

Learning Objectives
By the end of the workshop, participants will confidently plan and advance their projects, and clearly report project status and data to leadership with confidence and clarity
Participants will be able to:
- List the 8 Performance Domains: Accurately identify and explain essential domains, including Stakeholder Engagement, Team Performance, Planning, Delivery, and Measurement
- Define the 5 Process Groups: Clearly define the five project management groups—Initiating, Planning, Executing, Monitoring & Controlling, & Closing—and understand their interrelation
- Identify Project Life-Cycles: Distinguish between different project life-cycle approaches—Predictive (Waterfall), Iterative, Incremental, Adaptive (Agile), & Hybrid—and understand their characteristics and appropriate use
- Determine Schedule and Milestones: Create and manage schedules, identify milestones, and track timelines using tools like Critical Path Method & Gantt Charts
- Control Costs: Estimate, budget, and control project costs using techniques like Earned Value Management (EVM). Participants will learn to monitor financial performance, track variances, and make data-driven decisions to keep projects within budget
- Manage Resources: Assess, allocate, and optimize resources, integrating resource management with other project processes
- Select Contracts: Choose the appropriate contract types (fixed-price, cost-reimbursable, time-and-materials), assess contract risks, and align procurement strategies with project goals
