Strategies that will allow Indigenous communities & organizations to more effectively:

  • Plan, manage, and deliver cross-functional projects that align with Nation priorities — including infrastructure, housing, economic development, environmental initiatives, and more
  • Communicate with members and multi-jurisdictional (government and industry) stakeholders with clarity, consistency, and confidence
  • Understand the human interface factors in project management that shape interpersonal communication, collaboration, and trust across departments and partners

Strengthening environmental, economic development, housing, and infrastructure projects is a priority for many First Nations communities. A fundamental objective is to build healthy, sustainable, and self-determined communities. This requires a disciplined approach to project planning, team coordination, stakeholder engagement, and documentation.

This 3-day training provides a hands-on, case-based introduction to project planning — walking participants through the full lifecycle: from project conception (and its link to the Comprehensive Community Development Plan or Strategic Plan), through definition, planning, implementation, and close-out.

The workshop also dives deep into project communications — including how to engage members effectively, build internal and external support, and manage the political, organizational, and cultural realities that affect project outcomes. We also explore how your Nation’s organizational structure and partnerships influence scope, schedule, and budget decisions.

Our training methodology is grounded in respect for Indigenous values, governance models, and lived realities. Every session is delivered in a way that upholds cultural integrity and ensures participant safety.
